Garden Favorites

Finished size 57” x 59”
A new year, a new block of the month project to enjoy all through 2007!
By popular request, this year's project has a garden theme and we've included many of my favorite garden icons in this beautiful quilt. Follow along as we make a butterfly block, fabulous frog block, watering can, birdhouse, bee skep, bird, and a variety of flowers. Blocks are a variety of sizes and shapes and combine pieced blocks, appliquéd blocks, and some fun embellishments. Instructions for a new block will be posted at the beginning of each month, but you can go back to previous blocks anytime by clicking on the months listed below the quilt. General fabric requirements and cutting instructions are below. Finishing instructions will be with block twelve.

Many of you love to use the same fabrics we do for your quilt project, so this year we are pleased to offer a kit program for the Garden Favorites Block of the Month. Click here for details.
Cutting Chart
The fabric requirements, number of strips, and strips widths listed below are for the entire quilt; individual cuts will be given with instructions for each block. Cut all strips on the crosswise grain of the fabric (from selvage to selvage). Place Inside and Outside Borders and Binding in labeled, resealable bags. Sort remaining strips and place them in resealable bags according to fabric letter and strip width (2"-wide, 3 1/2"-wide, 6 1/2"-wide, etc.). Block cutting instructions for each month will tell you from which strip to cut each piece.
