Monkeying Around!

Throw a party that's more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Use Debbie's monkey-themed scrapbook paper and stickers and new scrapbook supplies for Jo-Ann Stores to create cute party supplies.

Invitations are quick and easy when printed from the computer and decorated with darling monkey stickers.

Embellish an ordinary Kraft bag with strips cut from monkey paper and a sticker proclaiming the recipient as “Top Banana!” Coordinating cardstock paper run through a corrugator to add texture and then cut into strips (TIP: use your paper shredder) is perfect stuffing for the gift bag.

Personalized party hats are easy to make from scrapbook paper, stickers, and simple sewing notions. Search online for “paper party hat template” and simply trace onto the reverse side of scrapbook paper. Decorate the hats with ribbons, raffia, ball fringe, and stickers.

A simple-to-make banner proclaims who is at the center of the party festivities. Trim triangles from scrapbook paper and cardstock (we cut ours so that we were able to get 3 triangles per piece of 12 x 12 paper), insert eyelets into lower two corners of each triangle, and string with jute. Add the little tyke's name, adorn with monkey and banana stickers, and hang for festive décor.

Fill a wicker basket with bananas tied with small “Monkey Treat” cards for a silly centerpiece. Send party guests home with a loot bag made especially for them. Cello treat bags are filled with assorted candies then topped with a header card made from scrapbook paper and stickers. Other filler ideas for the bags include small toys selected especially for either a “Monkey Boy” or a “Monkey Girl.”
