Fabrics shown are available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

Fabric Requirements and Cutting Instructions

Read all instructions before beginning and use 1/4"- wide seam allowance throughout.

Read Cutting Strips and Pieces prior to cutting fabric. If using lengthwise cut Outer Border pieces, cut lengths first and then cut block strips adjusting number of first cuts to achieve number of pieces needed.

Getting Started

What could be cuter for winter than this charming Snowman Lap Quilt? Easy block construction, using two fabric combinations, makes this the perfect, quick quilt to finish for winter. Blocks measure 9 1/2" x 11 1/2" unfinished. Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance and whenever possible use the Assembly Line Method of sewing. Press seams in the direction of arrows.

Snowman Appliqués

  2. Center and fuse twelve snowman bodies, hats, and scarves to twelve 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" Fabric A pieces. Finish appliqué edges with machine satin stitch or other decorative stitching as desired. Note: Add definition by satin stitching across bottom edge of scarf to define neck seam.
