"Peace"

Fabric Requirements:

Fabric C —From 4 1/2"-wide strip, cut eight 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" pieces

Fabric E —From 1 1/2"-wide strip, cut sixteen 1 1/2" squares

Fabric F —From 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 3 1/2" squares

From 1 1/2" x 11" strip, cut four 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" pieces

Fabric G —From 4 3/4"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" square

Fabric H —Four 3 1/2" squares, twelve 1 1/2" squares

Making the Peace Block

1. Refer to Quick Corner Triangles. Making a quick corner triangle sew one 1 1/2" Fabric H square and one 1 1/2" Fabric E square to one 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" Fabric C piece as shown. Press. Make eight, four of each variation as shown.
   
   
2. Sew together one 1 1/2" Fabric H square and one 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" Fabric F piece as shown. Press. Make four.
   
   
3. Sew one unit from step 2 between two units, one of each variation, from step 1 as shown. Press. Make four.
   
   
4. Making a quick corner triangle, sew one 1 1/2" Fabric E square to one 3 1/2" Fabric H square as shown. Press. Make four.
   
   
5. Sew one unit from step 3 between two units from step 4 as shown. Press. Make two.
   
   
   
6. Making quick corner triangles, sew four 1 1/2" Fabric E squares to 3 1/2" Fabric G square as shown. Press.
   
   
7. Sew unit from step 6 between two units from step 3 as shown. Press.
   
   
8. Sew unit from step 7 between two units from step 5 as shown. Press.
   
   
9. Making quick corner triangles sew four 3 1/2" Fabric F squares to unit from step 8 as shown. Press. Peace Block measures 9 1/2" square.
