Fabric Requirements:

Fabric B —From 2 3/4"-wide strip, cut four 2 3/4" x 5" pieces, four 2 3/4" squares

Fabric E —From 3 3/4"-wide strip, cut one 2 3/4" square

Fabric G —From 1 5/8"-wide strip, cut eight 1 5/8" squares

Fabric I —From 2 3/4"-wide strip, cut eight 2 3/4" squares, four 2 3/4" x 1 5/8" pieces, four 1 5/8" squares

Making the Freedom Block

1. Refer to Quick Corner Triangles. Making quick corner triangles sew two 2 3/4" Fabric I squares to one 2 3/4" x 5" Fabric B piece as shown. Press. Make four.
   
   
   
2. Sew one unit from step 2 between two 2 3/4" Fabric B squares as shown. Press. Make two.
   
   
   
3. Making quick corner triangles sew two 1 5/8" Fabric G squares to one 2 3/4" x 1 5/8" Fabric I piece as shown. Press. Make four.
   
   
   
4. Sew one unit from step 3 between two 1 5/8" Fabric I squares as shown. Press. Make two.
   
   
   
5. Sew 2 3/4" Fabric E square between two units from step 3 as shown. Press.
   
   
   
6. Arrange and sew together two units from step 1, two units from step 4, and unit from step 5 as shown. Press.
   
   
   
7. Sew unit from step 6 between two units from step 2 as shown. Press. Hope Block measures 9 1/2" square.
