Getting Started
Yardage requirements, cutting instructions, general notes and layout are found here. Seam allowances are 1/4". Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible, use the Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows.
Pieces Needed for Block Eleven
- Fabric C—from 2 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 2" x 3 1/2" pieces
- Fabric D—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 3 1/2" squares
- Fabric G—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 3 1/2" x 2" pieces
- Fabric I—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 3 1/2" squares
- Fabric J—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut
- Four 3 1/2" x 5" pieces
- Four 3 1/2" x 2" pieces
- From 2"-wide strip, cut
Making the Block
- Referring to Quick Corner Triangles, sew one 2" Fabric J square to one 3 1/2" x 2" Fabric G piece as shown. Press. Make four.

- Making a quick corner triangle unit, sew one 2" Fabric J square to one 2" x 3 1/2" Fabric C piece as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew units from step 1 and step 2 together in pairs as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew one unit from step 3 between two 3 1/2" x 2" Fabric J pieces as shown. Press. Make two.
- Making a quick corner triangle unit sew one 3 1/2" Fabric D square to one 3 1/2" Fabric I square as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew units from step 5 together in pairs as shown. Press. Make two. Sew these units together as shown. Press.
- Sew unit from step 6 between two units from step 4 as shown. Press.
- Sew one unit from step 3 between two 3 1/2" x 5" Fabric J pieces as shown. Press. Make two.
- Sew unit from step 7 between two units from step 8 as shown. Press. Block Eleven measures 12 1/2" square.
