Getting Started
Yardage requirements, cutting instructions, general notes and layout are found here. Seam allowances are 1/4". Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible, use the Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows.
Pieces Needed for Block Ten
- Fabric A—from 2 1/2"-wide strip, cut eight 2 1/2" squares
- Fabric B—from 2 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" pieces
- Fabric C—from 4 1/2"-wide strip, cut
- Four 4 1/2" squares
- Four 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" pieces
- Fabric D—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 4 1/2" square
- Fabric I—from 4 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 4 1/2" squares
Making the Block
- Referring to Quick Corner Triangles, sew one 4 1/2" Fabric C square to one 4 1/2" Fabric I square as shown. Press. Make four.

- Making quick corner triangle units, sew two 2 1/2" Fabric A squares to one 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" Fabric C piece as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew one unit from step 2 to one 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Fabric B piece as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew one unit from step 3 between two units from step 1 as shown. Press. Make two.
- Sew one 4 1/2" Fabric D square between two units from step 3 as shown. Press.
- Sew unit from step 5 between two units from step 4 as shown. Press. Block Ten measures 12 1/2" square.
