Yardage requirements, cutting instructions, general notes and layout are found here. Seam allowances are 1/4". Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible, use the Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows.
Pieces Needed for Block Eight
Fabric A—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 6 1/2" square
Fabric B—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 6 1/2" square
Fabric D—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut two 6 1/2" squares
From 2 1/2"-wide strip, cut four 2 1/2" squares
Fabric E—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 6 1/2" square
Fabric G—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 6 1/2" square
Making the Block
- Referring to Quick Corner Triangles, sew two 2 1/2" Fabric D squares to one 6 1/2" Fabric E square as shown. Press.

- Making quick corner triangle units, sew two 2 1/2" Fabric D squares to one 6 1/2" Fabric B square as shown. Press. Sew this unit to unit from step 1 as shown. Press.
- Making a quick corner triangle unit, sew one 6 1/2" Fabric A square to one 6 1/2" Fabric D square as shown. Press.

- Making a quick corner triangle unit, sew one 6 1/2" Fabric G square to one 6 1/2" Fabric D square as shown. Press. Sew this unit to unit from step 3 as shown. Press.
- Sew unit from step 2 to unit from step 4 as shown. Press. Block Eight measures 12 1/2" square.
