Getting Started
Yardage requirements, cutting instructions, general notes and layout are found here. Seam allowances are 1/4". Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible, use the Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows.
Pieces Needed for Block Seven
- Fabric C—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece
- Fabric D—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" square
- Fabric E—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece
- Fabric F—from 4 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" square
- Fabric G—from 6 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece
- Fabric H—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut
- One 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece
- One 3 1/2" square
- Fabric I—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut one 3 1/2" square
- Fabric J—from 3 1/2"-wide strips, cut
- Four 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" pieces
- Eight 3 1/2" squares
Making the Block
- Referring to Quick Corner Triangles, sew two 3 1/2" Fabric J squares to one 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" Fabric G piece as shown. Press.

- Make quick corner triangle units by sewing two 3 1/2" Fabric J squares to each of the following pieces as shown:
One 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric E piece
One 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric C piece
One 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric H piece
Make three, one of each combination. Press.

- Making a quick corner triangle unit, sew one 3 1/2" Fabric H square to one 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric J piece as shown. Press.

- Make quick corner triangle units by sewing each of the following squares to 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric J pieces as shown:
One 3 1/2" Fabric F square
One 3 1/2" Fabric D square
One 3 1/2" Fabric I square
Make three, one of each combination. Press.

- Sew unit from step 1 to unit from step 3 as shown. Press. Sew Unit 1 from step 2 to Unit 4 from step 4 as shown. Press. Sew these two units together as shown. Press.

- Sew Unit 2 from step 2 to Unit 5 from step 4 as shown. Press. Sew green Unit 3 from step 2 to Unit 6 from step 4 as shown. Press. Sew these units together as shown. Press.

- Sew together units from step 5 and step 6 as shown. Press. Block Seven measures 12 1/2" square.
