Getting Started
Yardage requirements, cutting instructions, general notes and layout are found here. Seam allowances are 1/4". Refer to Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows.
Pieces Needed for Block Four
Fabric A—from 3 1/2"-wide x 42" strip, cut four 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" pieces and four 3 1/2" squares
Fabric B—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut two 3 1/2" squares
Fabric D—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut eight 3 1/2" squares
Fabric E—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut two 3 1/2" squares
Fabric G—from 3 1/2"-wide strip, cut eight 3 1/2" squares
Making the Block
- Refering to Quick Corner Triangles, sew one 3 1/2" Fabric A square to one 3 1/2" Fabric D square as shown. Press. Make four.

- Making quick corner triangle units sew two 3 1/2" Fabric G squares to one 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Fabric A piece as shown. Press. Make four.
- Sew one unit from step 2 between two units from step 1 as shown, noting direction of triangles. Press. Make two.
- Making a quick corner triangle, sew one 3 1/2" Fabric E square to one 3 1/2" Fabric D square as shown. Press. Make two.
- Making a quick corner triangle, sew one 3 1/2" Fabric B square to one 3 1/2" Fabric D square as shown. Press. Make two.
- Sew one unit from step 4 to one unit from step 5 as shown. Press. Make two. Sew these units together as shown. Twist seams and press toward fabric E.
- Sew unit from step 6 between two units from step 2 as shown. Press.
- Sew unit from step 7 between two units from step 3 as shown. Press. Block Four measures 12 1/2" square.
