Fast and Festive Decorating

It's not too late! These fast and festive decorating ideas don't require a lot of time or money but enable you to create special holiday touches all through the house.

  1. Create a personalized wreath. Whatever your interests or decorating style, it's easy to create a just-right wreath using our tips.
  2. Sew easy ornaments. Relax and watch your favorite television program as you hand sew some easy wool ornaments for your wreath or tree.
  3. Accent your sofa with a fleece throw. Make our patchwork throw or an even easier quick-sew throw to add a cozy and colorful touch to your family room.

  4. Sweeten up mealtime. Add eye-candy to your table with a delightful gingerbread table runner. The kids will come running to enjoy this special table decoration.
  5. Decorate with candy. Inexpensive and eye-catching, using candy is a quick way to create a clever centerpiece. Mix a few oversized peppermint sticks with some mints in a clear glass vase for a quick and easy centerpiece; or use the candy sticks on the outside of the vase to create a candy stick vase for an arrangement of fresh greens. Combine a gingerbread house with the candy for a cute confection of a centerpiece!

  6. Use ornaments in new ways. Ornaments can do a lot more than hang on a tree! Some ornaments are so special that they deserve a place of honor in your decorating scheme. Fill a shallow glass bowl with a base of faux snow and some plain ornaments then add a few special ornaments on top. Items like a sprig of berries, beaded candy canes and a glass snowflake provide a backdrop for our special Santa and striped ornaments. Or, place some fun ornaments on pedestals. These glass candlesticks are just right to hold our vibrant polka dot ornaments. Simply turn ornaments upside down and hold in place with a little tacky clay if needed.
