Decorating Tricks and Treats

Set the scene for Halloween fun with these easy decorating tricks that are treats for the eye.

Candy corn is a favorite at Halloween and the candy's distinctive coloring makes it easy to create a candy corn container to hold treats or serve as the base for a centerpiece. Simple orange, yellow, and white paint turn a flowerpot into a fun container.

Bright-colored "Boos" and dancing ghosts make this tablecloth perfect for your treat table. The candy corn-scattered border stripe repeats the candy corn theme.

Create a simple, yet sensational, candle lantern to add an eerie glow to your Halloween home. Place a black candle in a glass hurricane and sprinkle candy corn all around. Add a few gourds or small pumpkins and your centerpiece is complete.

Add some Halloween haunting to your sofa with a couple of quick and easy pillows. Repeating stripes and Halloween sampler fabrics are great for "fussy-cut" centers or borders for pillows that are easy to sew, but look far more complex. Fabrics shown are from the Debbie Mumm® for Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Collections.
