Get Ready to Garden
Handy Organization Ideas

The weather is clearing, spring flowers are blooming and it's time to get ready for another gardening season. Organizing tools and creating an area for planting pots now will save time and trouble all through the season. Whether you have a shed, garage, or potting bench in a corner of the deck, these ideas will help you create a handy and handsome area for all those little gardening tasks.

A canvas wall organizer is a great way to add color and utility to a garage wall or protected area. I designed the one shown for Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and love the deep pockets, sturdy structure, and handy tool sleeves—not to mention the great colors and cute designs. What a fun way to organize seed packets, hand tools, gloves, and more.

A rolling cart is a handy way to move your work surface and supplies wherever they're needed. This counter-height wooden cart with two storage shelves is a great option, or check out no-maintenance plastic carts on-line.

A wooden seed packet caddy and fabric tool tote are convenient ways to organize and carry supplies around the yard. Small metal garbage bins with tight-fitting lids are perfect to hold potting soil and bird seed.

Finally, the best organization requires a To-Do list that can be changed and updated constantly, yet is eye-catching and fun. Our chalkboard project of the month will make you smile and keep you on track to complete your garden chores.

Have a fulfilling, fun, and organized gardening season!
