Easy as 1-2-3 Frame

Frame Instructions

Instructions based on using a wood blank. If altering a papier-mâché blank, prime it first by coating entire surface with Gesso. Use these same techniques to alter numbers and letters.

  1. Trace the frame shape onto the reverse side of patterned paper. Cut out and set paper aside.
  2. Prepare the back and sides of the frame by lightly sanding and painting with a base color. Let dry thoroughly.
  3. Lightly coat the front of the frame with Mod Podge®.
  4. Adhere the paper cut-out to the front of the frame. With your finger, lightly smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
  5. Let dry thoroughly.
  6. Coat entire frame with Mod Podge. (Coat one side first, let dry, then coat second side.)
  7. Let dry thoroughly.
  8. Adhere a variety of embellishments (tags, stickers (both epoxy & paper stickers), buttons, brads, appliqué, ribbons, etc.) according to personal preference.
Note: Iron-on appliqués and buttons can be adhered using either foam mounting tape or liquid glue.
