Holiday Fabric Postcards

Make your holiday greetings this year! Your greeting will stand out in the mailbox when you craft fabric postcards for special friends and family. What a cute way to say “I’m thinking of you.” Fabric shown is available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

Supplies & Tools:
- Assorted Debbie Mumm Collection® fabric
- Card stock
- Double-sided Peltex® (for Fabric Postcard)
- HeatnBond® Lite
- Clear vinyl (for Kinetic Postcard)
- Assorted shaped sequins (for Kinetic Postcard)
- Shaped paper punch (for Kinetic Postcard)
- Matching thread
- Basic sewing supplies
- Rotary cutter with straight and decorative blades, ruler and mat
Kinetic Postcard Directions
- Cut card stock to desired size (no larger than 6"x11")
- Cut fabric slightly larger than card stock.
- Apply HeatnBond® to fabric and fuse fabric to back of card stock.
- Lay sequins or paper punched shapes in the middle of the card
- Place vinyl cut slightly larger than card stock on top of fabric.
- Vinyl side down, machine stitch layers together 1/4" from edge of cardstock.
- Trim edge with rotary cutter.
Fabric Postcard Directions
- Cut base fabric and Peltex® 1/4" larger than desired size (no larger than 6"x11")
- Choose images from fabric to applique on base fabric. Apply HeatnBond® to applique and fuse in place on base fabric. Zigzag around edge.
- Repeat for back using light-colored cottons or cardstock for address and return address section.
- Fuse front to Peltex®.
- Using HeatnBond®, fuse the back in place. Use rotary cutter with a straight edge to trim card to size. Satin stitch edges with a wide, tight zigzag stitch.
- Glue on embellishments as desired.
Postage is 58¢ and is mailed as "non-machinable". Maximum size is 6 1/8" x11"x1/4". If there are questions, check with your local post office.
