Stocking Cap Stockings

Supplies & Tools:

• 1 skein Debbie Mumm Collection® Yarn – cream
• 2 skeins Debbie Mumm Collection® Yarn – color of choice
• Size 10 circular needles
• Size 10 double-pointed needles
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Directions:

1. Using circular needles & cream yarn, cast on 80 stitches. Join in round, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker & knit in K2 , P2 ribbing for 4 inches.
2. Change to contrasting color & knit every row for an additional 4 inches.
3. First decreasing round: *Knit 18, knit 2 tog. Repeat from *, four stitches decreased. Knit 3 more rounds.
4. Second decrease round: *Knit 17, knit 2 tog. Repeat from * to end of round. Knit 3 rounds.
5. Continue in this manner, decreasing 4 stitches every fourth round, until 8 stitches remain, switching to double-pointed needles as necessary.
6. Cut yarn, leaving a 10” tail. Using yarn needle, thread through remaining 8 stitches. Pull yarn through and secure.
7. Make tassel by winding yarn around 4” piece of cardboard until desired thickness. Tie extra piece of yarn around yarn wrap, cut and tie yarn around tassel and secure on hat.
8. Optional: Add tags to personalize the hats.
