Tea Party Garden Hat

Ribbon Pansies - 1 yard each of assorted 1” and 1 1/2"-wide shaded wired French ribbon (12” lengths)
Leaves - 1 yard each of assorted 1 ½”-wide wired French ribbon
Purchased Hat
- Fold ribbon as shown. Hand baste along stitching line using about a 1/8”-long stitch. Vary the length and width of the ribbons to obtain different size pansies.
- Pull stitches to gather, folding ribbon ends in toward center. Tack ends together around gathered center. Pansy is complete. For an added effect, sew a button or add a smaller ribbon pansy to the flower center.

- To make the leaf, cut 1 1/2”-wide ribbon to a 6”-length and fold in half crosswise. Hand baste along stitch line.

- Pull stitches to gather and tack securely. Gently pull ends to sharpen points and bend wire to desired look. Trim excess ribbon.
- Refer to color photo for pansy and leaf placement. Tack stitch the ribbon flowers and leaves in place.
